23rd Annual Problem Gambling Conference
The 2019 Responsible Gaming Association of New Mexico’s annual problem gambling conference will be held on Thursday and Friday, August 8-9, 2019 from 8:00am to 4:30pm each day. The event will be held at a new venue, the Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel in Bernalillo.
The conference will provide 12 CEU credits for counselors and social workers’ ongoing education, 6 of which are ethics. The fee for the conference has remained the same for the past few years so that behavioral health professionals and the general public can attend. The $75 registration fee covers all the sessions and materials, as well as continental breakfast and buffet lunch both days. Registration will close on July 21st or when the capacity of the venue is reached. Past conference attendees will receive an email when registration opens as a reminder, if your email has not changed. You may also use the “Join Our Mailing List” signup on the bottom of the website page.
All registrations are final and non-refundable. Substitute attendees are not allowed in advance or at the door. If any seats remain, walk-up registrations will be accepted on Wednesday, Aug. 7th from 5-7pm or Thursday, Aug. 8th from 7-8am, but must be paid by credit or debit card.
Conference Registration – – NEW – PLEASE READ
The online registration system is new and can be used to register an Individual or group using a credit card or PayPal account through the PayPal site. The system will generate and email a unique personalized ticket for each attendee. The ticket must be presented, along with a current picture ID upon conference check-in.
If you are registering a group and want the tickets to be emailed to each attendee, please register and pay for them individually. If you register them as a group, the tickets, and all conference-related emails will only be sent to the email listed on the Check Out page. If you need to pay for a group via Purchase Order or need assistance, please contact the coordinator at email@example.com.

You will need a unique email, mailing address and licensure information (if applicable) for each attendee in order to complete the registration process. Use this Group Registration Worksheet to gather each attendee’s information.
Registrations must be completed and paid at the time of booking.
You may also leave a message at (505) 771-5636. Staff will contact you within 2 business days to process your registration by phone. Please note a $10 convenience fee will be added to the registration fee, for this service.
Hotel Accommodations and Transportation

You can also call the Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel’s reservations desk at 844-466-2378 and ask for the Responsible Gaming Association of New Mexico block to receive the discounted rate of $95/night (plus taxes and $100 refundable deposit) for a luxury queen or luxury king room, continental breakfast included. This rate cannot be changed at check-in for those who do not use the discount code in making the reservation. Reservations must be made by July 15, 2019, guaranteed by credit card. No-shows or early departures will be charged one night’s room fee plus tax and deposit. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance. Check in is at 4 pm; checkout by 11 am.
Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel is located north of Albuquerque; exit 242. Attendees from the metro area can ride the RailRunner train and exit at the Bernalillo 550 stop. Shuttle vans will be available for transportation to the casino.
- Enter the number of individuals you wish to register in the gray box below “Tickets” and click on “Add to Cart”.
- Click on “Proceed to checkout” on the next screen and you will be prompted for details on each ticket holder.
- Fill in all fields for each ticket holder, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Save Attendee Info”. You will see “Attendee information has been saved.”
- Click on “Checkout” and you will be directed to the Check Out page.
- On the Check Out page, please enter your billing details and check the checkbox that you agree to the website terms and conditions. *NOTE: All tickets in this order will be emailed to the address you input on this page.
- Log into PayPal if you have an account OR click on the gray “Pay with Debit or Credit Card” box.
- Enter payment information and click on “Pay Now”.
- Check your email for your ticket and receipt. If you don’t see it shortly, check your junk mail.
- Watch your mail for a link to the handouts and/or other conference-related information and a survey monkey link, after the conference.
- Bring your ticket to the conference.

This year’s conference title is “Problem Gambling in the High Desert: Recent Findings for Prevention and Treatment.”
Check-in will be available on Wednesday evening, Aug. 7th from 5-7pm in the Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel convention center inside the Hotel. Check-in will also be available from 7am to 8:45am on Thursday, Aug. 8th.

Conference Materials & Scholarships
Note that handouts will NOT be available at the conference. Shortly before the conference, an email link will be sent to each attendee, allowing them to access and download any available speakers’ notes and/or materials.
Scholarships are available for students studying social science or business in a New Mexico university, community college or continuing education program. Application must be received by June 14, 2019. For details or to apply, see the scholarship application.
