The Responsible Gaming Association of New Mexico (RGANM) is proud to announce that RecoverMe, an evidence-based digital recovery app for problem gambling, is now available free of charge to all New Mexico residents

A July 27, 2026 webinar is available for treatment providers. See registration information below. Those interested in using the app can download it now.

By using the exclusive access code NM100, New Mexicans can unlock full premium access to RecoverMe’s recovery tools and begin their journey toward healthier gambling behaviors and long-term recovery. The app combines evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, self-guided recovery sessions, and real-time support designed specifically for individuals experiencing gambling-related harm.

A New Resource for Problem Gambling Recovery

Problem gambling affects thousands of individuals and families across New Mexico. Recovery often requires ongoing support, especially during the time between counseling appointments or outside normal clinic hours. RecoverMe was developed to provide that support whenever it is needed.

Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, RecoverMe allows users to work through guided recovery exercises at their own pace in a private, confidential environment. Features include:

  • Daily recovery check-ins
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) modules
  • Mindfulness and stress-management exercises
  • SOS tools for managing gambling urges and cravings
  • Progress tracking and accountability tools
  • Moderated peer support features

These evidence-based tools are designed to complement professional treatment while also serving as an accessible resource for individuals seeking additional support on their own.

Supporting Responsible Gaming Across New Mexico

RGANM President Shannon Dictson says RecoverMe expands the organization’s long-standing commitment to responsible gaming and problem gambling prevention.

“The RecoverMe app adds another tool to the suite of responsible gaming services provided by the Association, including educational materials, free treatment and counseling services, as well as continuing education on problem gambling treatment for therapists. In addition, every employee at every tribal member casino is required to take an annual class in recognizing problem gambling behaviors so that patrons can receive information and assistance.”

RecoverMe joins RGANM’s existing resources that help connect New Mexicans with education, prevention programs, treatment referrals, and recovery support throughout the state.

Developed by Clinical Experts

RecoverMe was created by clinicians with extensive experience treating gambling disorder and designed alongside individuals with lived experience in recovery.

Dr. Tejus Patel, co-founder of RecoverMe, explains the goal behind the platform: “As a doctor I know that each patient deserves the best care but has a different set of needs, so we built this app to provide problem gamblers with numerous sessions and tools that allow them to work at their own pace in the privacy of their own home. What that looks like is support that is available 24 hours a day, not just during a clinic’s business hours. Discreet and private therapy, fitting into real lives without stigma. Grounded in research, built with clinical expertise and lived experience.”

Co-founder Dr. Adil Nayeem added: “One stat we are especially proud of, when surveyed, 92% of RecoverMe users said they would recommend the app to a friend, family member, or loved one. That level of trust is not something we take lightly.”

Digital recovery tools like RecoverMe help lower barriers to care, extend access to evidence-based treatment, and provide support during the moments people need it most.

RGANM is also inviting behavioral health professionals, gambling treatment providers, counselors, social workers, peer support specialists, and other clinicians to attend a free one-hour Continuing Education (CEU) webinar introducing RecoverMe and its role in gambling disorder treatment.
